About Qi (Pronounced Chee)
The University of Minnesota Center for Spirituality and Healing says:
What is Qi?
TCM starts with the concept of Qi (pronounced "chee").
Qi is energy in the very broadest sense possible.
Qi is universal.
Qi embraces all manifestations of energy, from the most material aspects of energy (such as the earth beneath your feet, your computer, and flesh and blood) to the most immaterial aspects (light, movement, heat, nerve impulses, thought, and emotion).
Life, it is said in the Chinese medical classics, is a gathering of Qi. A healthy (and happy) human being is a dynamic but harmonious mixture of all the aspects of Qi that make up who we are.
Qi is in a state of continuous flux, transforming endlessly from one aspect of Qi into another. It is neither created nor is it ever destroyed; it simply changes in its manifestation.
About Energy Healing
Energy Healing is the Intentional use of Therapeutic Modalities to help the recipient through balance of the emotional, physical and spiritual being. This process can be applied with or without physical touch or presence.
About Lomi Lomi Massage
Lomi Lomi is a traditional Hawaiian Massage and Healing Practice. Lomi Lomi is unlike any other massage modality.
The lomilomi technique focused on finding congested areas in the body and dispersing them, by moving the palms, thumbs, knuckles and forearms in rhythmic, dance-like motions. Setting the intention for healing, the Kahuna would also utilize prayer (pule), breath (ha) and energy (mana). The practice of lomilomi was common within each Hawaiian community and contributed to a vibrant, healthy society.
"It is correct to say that lomilomi encompasses a massage, but it is not limited to it. Native Hawaiians say the true definition of lomilomi is reconnecting with spirit."
Maka’ala Yates, a Hawaiian medicine specialist.
About Deep Qi
Deep Qi Massage is a very unique experience. The practitioner uses 3 important things
Intention – This session requires the practitioner to be “Present” at all times. The practitioner uses their own intention to provide healing touch to every body part as it is worked. With increased Intention, the practitioner is able to focus healing energy deep into the tissues of the recipient. The recipient experiences a deeper massage without the need for deep and sometimes painful pressure.
Intuition – The practitioner uses their gifts of intuition to “know”just where and for how long to work each and every area. Some practitioners are just more gifted with intuition, and for the Deep Qi Massage, it is important that the practitioner be intuitive. The recipient will often but not always feel a deeper heat on areas that the practitioner is working on. This is the Energy Healing component of the session. The beautiful part about this, is that the body of the recipient knows exactly what to do with this Energy and will use it to heal itself.
Integration – Deep Qi integrates Swedish Massage, Lomi Lomi Massage, and Energy Healing all into one session. The normal session is 90 minutes, and includes approximately 60 minutes of Massage and 30 minutes of Energy Balance work
